Obituary For Beverly Scurry

Memorial Service for Mrs. Beverly Scurry will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00am at St. Matthew Baptist Church, 3731 Moncrief Road.

Beverly Ann (Brinson) Scurry, born May 26, 1959 to David and Lillie Brinson, was the youngest of seven children. Beverly was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL. Beverly accepted Christ into her life and received baptism as a child at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. Beverly attended George Washington Carver Elementary, Northwestern Jr. High, and graduated from Jean Ribault Sr. High School in 1977. Beverly attended Florida A&M University following high school majoring in General Education.

Beverly and James Scurry were joined in marriage on December 15, 1984. They were blessed with one beautiful daughter, Angelica Scurry. Beverly managed everything for her family so they would not have to worry about anything. Beverly loved fashion and learned how to sew, which became one of her favorite hobbies. She was an excellent cook, perfecting meals she learned from her mother, family and friends. Beverly and Angelica shared a special bond. She homeschooled Angelica during high school, made many of Angelica's clothes, collaborated with her on projects, styled many of Angelica's looks for photoshoot and helped with her businesses. She was the mastermind who worked humbly behind the scenes for Angelica. Beverly was employed with Baptist Medical Center working in medical records department; then in customer service at Barnett Bank for several years and had additional other jobs before retiring to become a full-time homemaker.

Beverly was preceded in death by her grandparents: Leroy and Charity Finley; parents: David Brinson Sr. and Lillie Finley Brinson; brothers: Audrey Brown (Baltimore, MD), Robert Leon Brinson (Houson, TX), Larry Brinson (Jacksonville, FL); and granddaughter Garcelle (Garcie) Angel Scurry (Jacksonville FL).

Beverly leaves to cherish her loving memories, loving and devoted husband James Scurry; loving daughter Angelica Scurry and future granddaughter Amaria Giselle Harris; brothers: David Brinson Jr. (Frieda) and Keith Elroy Brinson (Ann); sister: Darlene Brinson Griffin; aunts: Dorothy Brinson and Linnie Brinson; in-laws: Essie Scurry, Vickie Huntly, Glo (Dynie) Smith, Aldray Scurry, Rubin Marshall, George Marshall and Joseph Scurry (deceased); numerous cousins, a host of nieces and nephews and many sorrowing friends.

I Love 💕 and Miss You So Much Mama, Each and Every Day. You were the best Mom to Me In Every way . The Best Wife . You were and still are our whole world, and you have always been such a strong and beautiful woman inside and out . You left such a mark and strong impact to many ppl you met, and knew on this world . Thank you for loving your grand babies the way you did and have . You are now with the first one in heaven , and then for your other and new granddaughter she will be here in three more weeks . I know you wanted to be there for her arrival, but you will be with us on spirit to help me and help us get through this first time of childbirth . Me & Daddy will continue to honor and keep your memory alive ! We never thought in a million years that you would be gone so soon. But, God always knows what he is doing , and he needed another Angel up there with him. I am happy that you are with your parents and brothers again . ilI know you missed them dearly , and know you did not want to leave me and daddy behind also . I'm glad I got to have one last conversation with you, not in the way I wanted to, but happy you had the chance to hear me talk to you and express my feelings towards you on how amazing you are . I will continue to talk to you, and still check on you each and every day , and hopefully have more dreams about you , and ask you for advice like i always have because you were our rock, and still are our rock . It will never be easy with you being gone , we just have to learn to live with the fact that this is what it is now , but there is no way that we can ever forget you, and we never will . I hope to continue to make you proud , and I'll make sure to take care of daddy the way you always did . We love you so much . You truly are my hero, because even in the end you stayed strong and protected us from such a heavy burden you didn't want us to deal with . I will take care of your baby as you said , and make sure that she k owes all about you and her big sister Garcie . Like I said, I will forever keep y'all alive through me . I hope and pray each day you are happy, smiling , and at peace . I will have you back home soon to rest next to my Garcie in your resting place as you requested in your home. Your spirit still lives there and still lives through me and daddy . One day in life I will get to see y'all again , and wrap my arms around y'all. Take care of my baby for me, and I'll take care of your new baby coming in the world soon. I Love you ❤️💜💕💋 You Mama always and Forever ! Your only child and daughter . Angelica Patrice Scurry

My heart hurts so bad for her children and grandchildren especially the one that she hasn't met yet but I know that there's spirits have met in the act of passing and I hope your family heals and understands that she was a wonderful woman and she was a supportive mom and I always saw her with Angelica and she was so positive and so beautiful and so supportive of her daughter.
