Obituary For Jaylen Roseboro

Jaylen Alexander Roseboro was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on June 14, 2000, to Toni Roseboro. On Friday, May 6, 2022, God sent his angels to Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, North Carolina to give him much needed rest.

“Jayroze,” as he was affectionately called, was a 2018 graduate of Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia, North Carolina where he participated in football and wrestling. He continued his education by attending Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he received a Perseverance Award in Psychology and a honorary Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He was a resident assistant while in college. Jayroze was an avid New York Giants fan. He loved interacting with his family and friends. He loved going to church and praising the Lord.

He was preceded in death by this grandparents, Naomi Hunt, Ernest and Mary McKnight and Eddie and Alma Bell.

Those left to cherish precious and fond memories are his mother: Toni Roseboro of Gastonia, North Carolina; sister, Alexandria Crawford of Gastonia, North Carolina, brother, Raymon Baxter of Rock Hill, South Carolina; grandparents, Anita Williams, Robert and Helen Colen all of Gastonia, North Carolina; aunts: Tracie Roseboro of Gastonia, North Carolina, Melissa McKnight Rouse (Wadel) of Sharon, South Carolina, Oda Mackins, Tristia Mackins, Shanna Mackins, Jesse Love, Sharon Wilson-Linney (William), Livinia Brown, Ivey Wilson, Luketia Wiliamson, Yvette Williams, Pam Michael, Decembury Thomas-Dimery, Kala Moore, and Angela Graham all of Gastonia, North Carolina, uncle, Tyrone Roseboro of Gastonia, North Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Friday; May 13, 2022 from 5 until 7

Funeral on Saturday; May 14, 2022 at Mt. Zion Restoration Church at 12 noon.

Visitation is one hour before the service at the church

Interment: Armstrong Cemetery, Gastonia

Masks required at all services
