Obituary For William E. Moore

Dea. William Moore, 86, of Salem, AL pased Monday, May 9, 2022 in Auburn, AL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, May 13, 2022 at Greater St. John Baptist Church, Crawford, AL with Rev. Charlie Bryant, officiating; Dr. Alphonso Thomas, eulogist. Interment will follow in the new cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Deacon William E. Moore was born April 15, 1935 to the late Henry Moore and Olivia Vaughn Moore.

He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Greater St. John Baptist Church where he diligently served in the following areas over the years: Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon Board, Usher Board and No. 2 choir. William was a faithful servant who loved the Lord, his church family, and fellowship.

On August 20, 1955, at the ripe old age of 20, he was united in holy matrimony with Willie B. Moore. This union was blessed with two children. They would go on to share a life for nearly 67 years.

William was the epitome of a hard worker and provider. As a young man, he held several jobs, but ultimately retired from Uniroyal Goodrich in Opelika, Alabama after several years of service. He then went on to overachieve in his personal endeavors as a farmer. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by eight siblings.

His precious memories will forever be cherished by his loving, beautiful and devoted wife, Willie B. Moore; three daughters, Jeroline (Rod) Bell of Columbus, Georgia; Patricia Moore of Buford, Georgia, LaQuita Moore-Smith of Calera, Alabama; one son, Jerry Williams of Columbus, Georgia; sister, Bernice Moore; brother Thomas Moore; both of Salem, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Robert Gober of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren, Torrona (Terrance) Creighton, Tiffini (Brian) Morgan, Christal Brown, William Chandler Smith and Chloe Smith; six great grandkids one devoted Zoie Morgan; seven great-great grandkids; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; three devoted caregivers, Shanquita Clouds, Melissa Huguley, and Latonia Miles.

Dr. Alphonso Thomas Sr. , First Lady Janice Thomas and the entire New bride Christian Church would to like to offer our condolences the Moore family at the loss of a friend and mentor. He showed us so much love and gave me guidance as a young minister. God has made the decision to call our beloved friend home and we know he will be truly missed.
