Obituary For Brenda Winston

BRENDA WINSTON, 69, transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Barbara A. Neal and reared by her and the late Andrew Bates. Brenda received her formal education in the Harrisburg Public School System and was a graduate of the former William Penn High School. Having a desire to further her education, she attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She relocated to New York to begin her career and during her working career, she was also an employee of the Federal Government at the Depot in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and she retired as a supervisor from Service Master. Brenda, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, was devoted to her loved ones and cared deeply for her family. According to her siblings, in her younger years, she was the life of the party. In her leisure, she enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, doing crossword puzzles and reading books, articles and especially the National Enquirer later in life during her retirement. In addition to her parents, her younger sister, Yvette Lynch and her grandson, Kobe Santiago, preceded Brenda in death. Brenda leaves to carry on with memories of her and their life together; her husband, Wilbur F. Wright, Jr. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her sons, Jamie Winston and William Wright, both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Michelle Wright of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her step-sons, Jabar Proctor and Jamel Wright of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Furnel Wright of Virginia. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Winston, Tyrone Smith and Bryan “Beannie” Smith, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her sister, Karen “Peachie” Beal of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends too numerous to list, but not forgotten. Brenda’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with a Visitation from 10:30 until 11:00 AM. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees. www.majorhwinfieldfuneralhome.com
