Obituary For Quentin Davis

Quentin Bernard Davis, 46, died on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital. Quentin was born on April 22, 1976 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Jerome B. Courts and the late Deborah T. Davis. Quentin was a devoted son, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. Quentin was a loving person with a heart of gold. Quentin shared a special bond with his grandmother, Shirley Davis (Ma).

Quentin attended Greensboro City Schools and Cornerstone Charter Academy where he received his GED. “Quent” had a true passion for sports and was an outstanding athlete. He participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He was employed at North Carolina A&T State University (Building Grounds), the City of Greensboro, and was currently employed with NFI Distribution Center.

Quentin was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. Quentin enjoyed cooking/grilling and trying new recipes. He loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of New Light Baptist Church. Quentin was an usher, on the transportation ministry and a member of The Ambassadors of Hope.

Quentin was preceded in death by: Deborah Davis (Mother), Lottie G. Courts (Grandmother-Muh), and Thomas Davis (Grandfather).

Quentin leaves to cherish his memory by: Father, Jerome Courts (Ella Boone); Shirley Davis (Grandmother); Tyron Quenard Davis (son); Trudi Hampton (Mother of son); Nicole Hampton (Bonus daughter); Sisters: Nina Black (Kenndi-niece) and Jasmine Davis (Ja’mere-nephew); Brother: Bernard “Bennie” Richmond (Keisha); Kelissia Hampton (Granddaughter); Edna McCorkle (Godmother); a host of Aunts and Uncles: Ruth Warner (Perry), Brenda Jones, Willie Mae Trapp, Patricia Fitzgerald (Larry), Joseph Courts, James Ronald Courts (Barbara), Larry Brown (Barbara), Nathaniel Brown (Tammy), Gary Brown, and an abundance of family and friends.

Quentin was full of life and love! He will be deeply missed!

A service honoring his life will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Rd. Greensboro, NC.

Visitation begins at 11:30 am and the service will follow at 12 noon.

Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Professional services are entrusted to Perry J. Brown Funeral Home.

The last time we spoke my family and I were placing flowers and balloons at my Mothers memorial. You stopped the car, we all chatted a bit and you gave words of encouragement. You will be missed my friend. May God provide the family and friends comfort as they go through this difficult time.
