Obituary For Winifred Hurd

Winifred Sharp Hurd, age 101, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Edward George; son, Maurice Hurd and daughter, Anita Hurd.

She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter, Sandra Hurd; grandchildren, Rickey Boyd, Rukiya Hurd, LaTasha Hurd, Antwain Taylor and Maurice (Alexis) Hurd; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; daughter, Vivian Glenn; adopted daughter, Melanie Stewart; adopted granddaughter, Elika Stewart and a host of family and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration is set for Saturday, May 21, 2022, at House of God Church, 2334 Parkview Avenue, Rev. Nicole Walker, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2pm with the Celebration Services to follow. The final resting place will immediately follow at Union Temple Cemetery in Maryville, TN. A dove release will conclude in her honor. Mrs. Hurd will lie in state at the Unity Mortuary Chapel on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.
