Mrs. Jackson dedicated her life to the Lord at a young age and became a member of the Tallassahatchie Missionary Baptist Church where she remained an active member. She used her spiritual gifts as a member of the Cheerful Givers Society #1, the church choir, the Missionary Fellowship Choir and she also taught Sunday school. Lillie was educated in the Talladega County School System completing her public school education at Phyllis Wheatley in Childersburg, Alabama in 1958. In her on-going pursuit of knowledge, she completed a bachelor’s degree at Alabama State University and a master’s degree at Tuskegee Institute. Mrs. Jackson taught special education in Georgia, Texas and Alaska. She retired in Anchorage, Alaska and moved home to Alabama where she continued to work as a substitute teacher. Lillie was a talented seamstress, artist and cook. She was known for having the most beautiful flowers and plants. She also loved to sing, play the piano and spend time with her sisters.

Lillie met the love of her life while attending Alabama State University. Lillie was introduced to Albert Jackson, who was stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base, by her college roommate. They were married March 24, 1965, in Montgomery, Alabama. Their union was blessed with one child. She remained a loving and dedicated wife until his passing.
