Obituary For Tecora Smith

Tecora Gist Smith was born on February 10, 1950 in Spartanburg County to the late J. T. and Clara Fernandez Gist. She entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2022. She was the wife of the late Olin D. Smith.

Tecora was a 1968 graduate of Carver High School.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Sisters of Eden #085 and Ruth Grand Chapter #079.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: her brother, James (Helen) of Spartanburg, SC; her nephews, Kenneth Glenn of Spartanburg, SC and Orlando Fernandez of Baltimore, MD; and her three nieces, Neeko and Sonya Gist both of Spartanburg, SC and Carol Fernanders of Baltimore, MD.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve Gist, Jerome Gist, Rocky N. Gist and John Fernandez; and a sister, Margaret D. Glenn.

A Celebration of the Life of Tecora Gist Smith will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2256 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.

The family is at 444 Lucerne Dr., Spartanburg, SC.
