Obituary For Deionte Sparkman

Deionte Sparkman was born in Florence, South Carolina to Shedennia Clark-Peoples and Steven Peoples, Sr. in Florence, South Carolina. He departed his life on May 16, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.

Dee was educated in the Gaston County School System, graduating from Warlick Academy High School on June of 2021. After graduating, he started working with the Wendy’s Corporation, and continued to work there until his death.

Dee was an active participant in several activities at the Erwin Community Center, playing basketball in recreation leagues. He played with the Erwin Center Bulldogs and Police Athletic League teams. At the Erwin Center, he was a member of the Sisters and Brothers with Purpose Program, where he learned life skills, went on exposure field trips, and mentored youth younger than him.

In his spare time, he loved to play basketball, joke with his friends, and listen to music. Dee was definitely the life of the party wherever he was.

Mr. Deionte “Lil Dee” Sparkman leaves to cherish his memory: a loving mother and father, Shedennia Clark-Peoples and Steven Peoples, Sr., of Gastonia, NC; a brother: Marvin Clark (Erica) of Columbia, SC; a sister: Gena Sparkman of Gastonia, NC, a brother: Steven Peoples, Jr., of Gastonia, NC; a sister, Lashawnda Peoples of Gastonia, NC, a brother: Aden Peoples of Gastonia, NC; a maternal grandmother and grandfather: Mr. and Mrs. Tisdale both of Florence, SC; a paternal grandmother and grandfather: Mr. and Mrs. McCallister both of Florence, SC, a special friend and mentor: Mrs. Cynthia Stitt of Gastonia, NC and George Fulwood, Jr., of Mcadenville, NC and a host of other family and many wonderful friends.

Viewing at the funeral home on Friday; May 20, 2022 from 4 until 6

Funeral: Saturday; May 21, 2022 at the Erwin Community Center, Gastonia at 4:00 p.m. with thirty minute visitation before the service

Masks are required at all services and funeral will be live on funeral home facebook page

So sad I just moved to my neighborhood and he use to walk down everyday sometimes even twice or more walking with friends my heart hurt for his parents and family also his friends so sad to see kids in our community taken so soon prayers for our city we have to do better God blessed this baby soul as you welcome him to his heavenly home ❤️🙏🏾
