Obituary For George Dewey Hubbard

Mr. George Dewey Hubbard, age 53, adoring husband to Sara Hubbard and loving father of two, Travis Dewey and Devin Neal, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022 at the family residence in Stephens, GA.

George was born on October 25, 1968 in Washington, GA to the parentage of George Willie Hubbard and Carolyn Arnold. His passion was logging ever since he was a young lad and continued to be until his health most recently failed. He was currently employed with Enterprise Trucking and had been a logger for over 30 years. He was loved by all, especially his family and the entire logger community.

In 1986, he met the love of his life, Sara Hubbard, and they wed on October 27, 1996, going on to have two children: Travis and Devin. He continued his career in logging and traveled with his wife enjoying the simplities of life.

George was predeceased by his parents, George Willie Hubbard and Carolyn Arnold; his sister, Debra Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories: Travis (Kathryn) Hubbard, Devin (Cheyenne) Hubbard and his one grandchild, Raelyn Jean, and two expecting grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers, Lewis Hubbard and Michael Weaver, cousins, nieces, nephews, fellow loggers, and friends.

There will be a Memorial Service from 2:00PM to 7:00PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Barrett Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel located at 1064 Athens Road, Crawford, GA 30630.

Dewey was such a sweet caring person who had a heart of gold . One thing is for sure he loved his family. And that says a lot . Dewey rest in peace walk them streets of gold .. He had one of the kindest souls that you don't see much any more . In the last year even though he was sick he would always send a message to me wanting to see how my dad (Buddy) was doing he as well had cancer . I thought that was so nice of him and the family .
