Marilyn Renee Davis, 59, of Walnut Cove, NC passed Thursday, May 19, 2022. Public viewing will be held, Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at New London Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, Walnut Cove, NC. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.

Ms. Marilyn Renee Davis was born August 27, 1962, to the late Rannie E. Davis and Annie E. Gibson Davis. God sent an angel to Forsyth Medical Hospital, Winston Salem, NC on Thursday, May 19, 2022, to claim one of his own.

She attended Southeastern Middle School for a brief time. Marilyn was a very sweet and loving person. She hugged and smiled at everyone she met and said, “How are you today?”. When you asked her how you are – she always said “I ‘am doing pretty good”. She was asked one day, what do pretty good mean? She laughed and said, “I don’t know”. Marilyn loved good food and watching Lifetime TV. She was a lifelong member of New London PP Baptist Church where she served on numerous auxiliaries including the Usher Board and the Pastor’s Aide committee.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Edward (Ed) Patterson and Wesley Davis and one sister, Earline Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memory: four brothers; George Davis (Anna), Elmer Davis (Donna), Edison Davis, Curtis Davis all of Walnut Cove, NC, two sisters; Betty Davis and a very devoted sister, Sharon Simmons both of Walnut Cove, NC, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, two sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
