Obituary For Florence Ann Lampkins Dillard

Florence Ann Lampkins Dillard, 79 of Eden, NC passed, Monday, May 23, 2022. Public viewing will be held Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Morning Star Baptist Church, Eden, NC from 12:30 p.m to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hamlin Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Florence “Bang” Ann Lampkins Dillard, age 79, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, died after a long illness on May 23, 2022 at Moses Cone Select , Greensboro, North Carolina. Bang was born in Pittsylvania, County, Virginia on February 7, 1943, where she attended public schools. Bang came to Eden, NC at an early age and attended Temple of Faith Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Dillard Sr., mother, Laura Lampkins Wheeler, father, Ophus Lampkins, daughter, Trina Dillard Hampton, sisters; Pearline Hairston, Cora Little, Marie Saunders, Loraine Brim and Garnetta Inge; and brothers; Robert “Bob” Lee Hairston and Bernice Aikens. Bang leaves to cherish her memories; sons; Billy Dillard, Jr. (Linda), Ernest Dillard (Sabine) and Dave Dillard (Emily) all of Eden, NC. Daughters: Clara Dillard, Marvis Dillard and Amy Hampton all of Eden, NC, Tonya “Rainy” Dillard of Reidsville, NC, and Antoinette “Sue” Hendon (Nathaniel), Pittsburgh, PA, Arlette Karen Farrish, Tampa, FL, two sisters; Barbara (Bobbi Jean) Hampton, Eden, NC and Elizabeth Broadnax (Pee Wee), Madison, NC, one brother; Ophus (Bobby) Lampkins of Philadelphia, PA, 31 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
