Obituary For James Arthur McGee, Jr.

The late James Arthur McGee, Jr. was born on March 11, 1952, in Port St. Joe, Florida, to the late Daisy Lee Pittman and James McGee Sr.

He attended Port St. Joe High School and Gulf Coast Community College. James served as a devoted Deacon at NewZion Missionary Baptist Church.

He spent 36 ½ years with the City of Clearwater Solid Waste.

“Big Red” loved to fish and watch Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown Wrestling faithfully with his beloved wife. You could always bet a cowboy western show was on the other days of the week.

James Arthur McGee, Jr. departed this life on Monday, May 16, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael McGee, and god sisters, Gwendolyn Anderson and Elnora Keith.

He leaves to mourn....

His forever love and wife of 50 years, Jeanette McGee

Daughters: Rolanda Simmons (Keith) and Atecia Young (Corey)

Grandchildren: Harold Davis, Keith Simmons, Jr., and Marcellus Young

Great-grandchild: Riley Davis

Special bonus mom: Edith Best

Siblings: Dorothea Miles (Willie), Barbara Baxter, Rodney McGee (Connie), Linda Washington (Josh), Bridgett Collins (Craig), Danny McGee, Rev. Danta McGee (Lamonia), Tammy Gray (Clyde), Dewhy McGee (Christina), and Andre McGee (Arica)

God-sisters: Elaine Hayes and Jeanette Davis

Special nieces: Antosia Lang and Aniyah Devine

Faithful friends: Konrad McCree Sr. and Sandra Frazier

Special neighbor: Bernice Dillard

Eight godchildren, all of whom were special to him.

Also grieving his passing, a host of family and friends near and far.
