Obituary For Sheila R. Vance

SHEILA R. VANCE, 57, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, May 30, 2022 at her home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Eugene Vance, Jr. and the late Lucille Washington Roy. Sheila received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District and was a graduate of Harrisburg High School. During her working career, she began working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and for the past 18 years was an employee of the Department of Corrections. Sheila was known for being the life of the party. If she was around, it was sure to be laughter to follow. Sheila was the glue that kept the family together; she was known to be the one to introduce family members to each other. In her leisure, she enjoyed shopping specifically at Boscov’s, even more specifically for curtains. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Sheila was a very avid HGTV watcher and was constantly looking for things to decorate her home. If she was not shopping, she was spending time with her grandson, Truth, who she adored so much. In addition to her parents, her stepfather, Clarence Roy; her ex-husband, Dane Prunty; her sister, Helen “Sundee” Ojea; her favorite uncle, Paul Vance and her best friend, Regina Britton preceded her in transitioning into eteranl life. Sheila leaves to cherish her life and legacy, her daughter, Lexus Prunty and her son, Au’man Waters, both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her nieces, RaLisa (Shawn) Smith and Kia Enos, both of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her nephew, Akieto (Claribel) Ojea of Reading, Pennsylvania; her life and legacy will also be honored and cherished by her grandson, Truth Jackson, her closest friend, Eric Hunter of North Carolina and host of other family members and friends. Sheila’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with a Viewing and Visitation from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Live Streaming of the service will be available on Major H. Winfield Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
