Obituary For Curtis "Big C" Hackett

TYLER -- Graveside services for Mr. Curtis Hackett, 50, of Tyler, Texas will be held on June 11, 2022 at 11 am in the Hopewell Community Cemetery with Rev. Ted Hasley serving as eulogist. The services are under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mr. Hackett was born on May 31, 1972 and transitioned on June 1, 2022. He was a graduate of John Tyler High School and continued his education at Trinity Valledy Community College with a degree in Computer Science. Curtis was a life resident of Smith County and a member of Hopewell Valley Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Samuel and Lorene Lee, paternal grandmother: Baby Dell Hayes, three aunts: Linda Lee, Mary Price and Carolyn Evans; one uncle: Bennie Lee.

His memories will be cherished in the hearts of his son: Carnell Monroe of Colorado Springs, Colorado; father: James E. Hackett of Winona; mother and step father: Jean and Rev. James R. Polk of Tyler; sister: LaTorie and Rev. Howard Blaylock of Tyler; nieces: Ambrielle Murray of Pensacola, Florida, Dnya Crowder of Tyler; nephews: TaMonta Lewis (Bailey) of Tyler and Trevon Crowder both of Tyler, Texas; special friend: Charlene Perdue of Tyler; several uncles and aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 10th from 2 pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
