Annette Leflore Fortune was born August 13, 1962, to Pratt and Veola Leflore at Leake Memorial Hospital. She received her General Education Diploma from East Central Community College.

Annette confessed her life to Christ at an early age by joining Christian Union Missionary Baptist Church. She married Jessie Earl Fortune and this union was blessed with two sons, U'Marcus Monta and Jessie Earl, Jr. She was employed with Leake Memorial Hospital for many years. Through suffering with multiple illness, she lived her life for God, her children, grandchildren, and caring for her parents. She was known by everyone for her direct candor and laughter.

Her son U'Marcus Mona Fortune; grandparents, William and Johnnie Ruth Matlock Leflore and Blutcher and Stella Boyd Gray; and one brother Pratt Leflore, Jr. preceded her in death.

On June 3, 2022, a page turned, and the final chapter came to a close in the life of Annette Leflore Fortune as she answered the call of her Heavenly Father. God called Annette home at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
