Obituary For Betty Foster

Betty Foster, 76, of Elwood, FL was born on Friday, May 24, 1946, to James & Thelma Lee King – Bennett, Sr. She received her education in the St. Johns County School District where she subsequently graduated from Murray High School. Betty was known in the family as “Grandma Betty” and was a God fearing and loving woman. She enjoyed cooking, reading, writing, and spending quality time with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Betty completed countless hours of volunteer work assisting mothers get proper clothing and diapers for their children in St. Augustine. She was also a part of visiting prisons in Florida with the ministry that allowed her to speak into inmates and offer a word of prayer. Grandma Betty also published a book of inspirational poems with the title of “Victory Unfolded”.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, James Foster; daughter, Yolanda Bennett; siblings, Dorothy Jones Bennett, James Sr, Kenneth, Ralph, Milton Bennett.

She leaves to cherish her many memories: her son, Terrell Bennett Sr.; grandchildren, Christopher Walker Sr., Terrell Bennett Jr., Jasmine Bennett, Dashawn Bennett; great grands, Jermaine Bennett, Tylayjah Sykes, Christiana Walker, Christopher Walker Jr., Isaiah Bennett, Asia Tiller, Taylor Sykes; siblings, Christine Darby, Shirley Jenkins, Steve Bennett, Barbara Shurman, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The Foster Family will receive extended family and friends on Saturday, June 18, 2022, an hour prior to the graveside service in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs, FL. The graveside service will be 10:00a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022.
