She attended Anson County Schools. She worked and retired from Zimmer in Wadesboro, North Carolina.
Catherine was a faithful member of Flakes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Wadesboro, North Carolina. She was a member of the Missionary and the Southern Gospel Singers for many years. She was a member of the Electa Chapter #525 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #10403.
She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and singing with the Southern Gospel Singers.
Catherine was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Elijah Coxe, Jr on May 1, 1955. To this union six (6) children were born.
In addition to her father, mother and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Fannie Richardson, James Tillman, Elizabeth Ruth Tillman, Thomas Tillman, Virginia Caraway, Robert Tillman, Charlie W. Tillman and Margaret Tillman.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; six (6) children: Willie B. Cox (Juanita) of Miramar, FL; Linda C. Bennett (David) of Matthews, NC; Milton E. Cox (Phyllis) of Wadesboro, NC; Harold E. Cox (Maria), of Monroe, NC; Brenda C. Lewis (Dennis) of Matthews, NC and Cheryl E. Isibor (Michael) of Charlotte, NC; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Nannie Ruth Dunlap and Eliza Cox both of Charlotte, NC; a brother-in-law, Prentice Clark of Wadesboro, NC and a host of step grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
