Obituary For Marcus Dwayne Butler

Marcus Butler, 52, of Palatka was born on September 24, 1969, in Palatka to George Tripp and Viviene Christopher. He enjoyed fishing and being around family and friends. His favorite sport was basketball which he also played as an adolescent. He enjoyed watching football and being in Boy’s Scout. Marcus was affectionately known as “The Tree” by family and friends. He carried a smile on his face every day. It wasn’t never a dull moment being around Marcus. He was also a people’s person. If Marcus had it, he would give it; rather it’s his clothes or shoes. His calls will be missed with him quoting “Love you Ma, love you Sis, and love you Bro.

In addition to his father, Marcus was preceded in eternal rest by his stepfather, Spencer Christopher, Sr.; brothers, Eddie Tripp, James Tripp, Victor Tripp; nephew, Victor Tripp, Jr.; and sister, Deloris Tripp.

Marcus leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother, Viviene Christopher; his twin brother, Maurice (Toni) Butler; siblings, Frankie Butler, Wallace Tripp, Spencer Christopher, Jr., Roy Tripp; sisters, Dorothy Tripp, Mary Tripp, Victory (Reginald) Roberts, Constancha Christopher, Marian Christopher, and Helen (Cephas) Mack; special friends, Toniesha Davis and Jason Sims, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends

The Family will receive extended family and friends on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, Palatka, FL from 5:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. The Homegoing Celebration will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, Holy Temple of God, East Palatka, FL. The burial will be in Pattersonville Cemetery, East Palatka, FL.
