Obituary For Arthur Lee "Sonny" Gibbons, Sr

Arthur Lee "Sonny" Gibbons, Sr, of Hwy 171 N, Louisville, GA departed this life Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church and Cemetery, Louisville, GA. MASK ARE REQUIRED. Public viewing will be held Monday, June 27th, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with mask. "Sonny" as he was lovingly called was born in Wadley, GA to the parentage of the late Radford and Patsey Lee Palmer Gibbons. He attended the Jefferson County Public School System and was an active member of the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church Family for many years. "Sonny" worked as a brick mason and was instrumental in working to build Plant Vogtle. He was known by all and loved by many. "Sonny" is preceded in death by his parents, a step daughter, Diane Tarver and his siblings, Elizabeth Gibbons, Raymond Gibbons, Nathaniel Gibbons, James Gibbons and William Gibbons. He is survived by his wife: Marylene Tarver Gibbons, Sandersville, GA; three sons, Corey Thomas, Louisville, GA, Carlo Thomas, Bartow, GA, Arthur Lee Gibbons, Jr, Bartow, GA; daughter, Shuntae Gibbons, Bartow, GA; step children: Kelvin (Shvinyah) Tarver, Augusta, GA and Janice (Grady) Collier, Sandersville, GA; his siblings, Fannie Mae Mitchell, Louisville, GA, Juanita Tarver, Wrens, GA, Tom Nelson, Hollywood, FL; his grandchildren, Mario Thomas, Artdarrious Gibbons, Marquis Fann, Jakeious Fann, Jymia Fann, Aaron Graves, Arkayla Gibbons and Makayla Ivey. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Active Pallbearers Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons and Trustees of Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church.
