Obituary For Margaret A. Brewton Davis

Margaret A. Brewton Davis was born on January 24, 1956, in Clearwater, Florida to Willie M. Brewton and Rose M. Brewton. Margaret relocated to Darlington, South Carolina, where she resided until her death.

Margaret spent most of her early years in Clearwater, Florida, where she attended John F. Kennedy Middle and graduated from Clearwater High School, Class of 1973. She continued her education at Tuskegee University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Physical Therapist. Margaret was employed with Eckerd Leadership Program as a counselor to young students. She was a dynamic educator. Margaret was also a manager at Express Check in Darlington, South Carolina for seven years. Margaret became a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend R. B. Harris. She attended Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Lee Street First Church of God. Margaret was talented and loved to sing.

Margaret was united in Holy Matrimony, until her death, to her faithful and loving husband, Harvey James Davis. The two enjoyed sharing time with others and “Macho” their dog. She was the apple of his eye, and he was hers.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Willie Brewton, Sr., grandmothers, Georgia A. Brewton and Eva Williamson Cummings, brother, Willie M. Brewton, Jr., stepdaughter, Kiesha Brown and many aunts and uncles.

Margaret A. Brewton Davis departed this earthly life to enter her heavenly home on June 13, 2022

Mother: Rose M. Brewton

Sister: Linda Crews Brewton

Aunts: Veronia Brown and Theola Pompey

Brother-in-law: Samuel Davis

Sisters-in-laws: Mary M. Davis, Mary Elizabeth Davis and Odetta Davis

A host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Public Viewing: Friday, June 24, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1124 Harvey Lane, Clearwater, Reverend Leroy Hardy, Pastor.

Home Going Service: Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:30 A.M., New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 845 Woodlawn Street, Clearwater, Reverend Dr. LeRoy Howard, Pastor.
