Tami Jean Melton

Tami Jean (Voltz) Melton, 55 of Sunset, TX, passed away Sunday, June 26th, 2022.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1st, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX, with Jim Harmon officiating.

A private burial will take place at Scrougy Cemetery.

Tami was born August 29th, 1966 in Billings, MT to Benjamin and Sharon (Allen) Voltz. She grew up in the Billings and Silesia, MT area, and graduated from Joliet High School in Joliet, MT in 1985.

On June 11th, 1988, Tami married Jeff Melton, and the couple lived in Carrolton, TX, until buying land and building their home in Sunset, TX. She worked for James Woods Motors for 31 years in July as a Warranty Administrator.

Tami loved spending time with family, traveling, being outdoors, many hunting and fishing trips with her dad, as well as camping and fishing with her family, time spent with her sisters laughing, playing Mexican train, being at all her nieces and nephews events growing up, going on walks with the dogs and spending time with her husband, maybe watching a western movie. She was strong in her faith and loved the Lord. Even up to her last days, Tami praised Him, while continuing to smile and thank Him for her family.

She is preceded in death by her father Benjamin Arnold Voltz.

Tami is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jeff Melton of Sunset; mother, Sharon Voltz of Billings, MT; sisters, Tracy Lewelling and husband Rick, and Teresa Banks; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
