Adriene Leigh Gregory, 40 of Chesterfield, Virginia, died after a long illness on June 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Lewis Gregory; paternal grandparents, George and Fannie Gregory; and maternal grandparents, Carl and Eura Lewis. She is survived by her two daughters: Kai Gregory and Mykala Banks of Chesterfield, VA; father, Hon. Roger L. Gregory, and stepmother, Velda E. Gregory, of Midlothian, VA; two sisters: Rachel Gregory Ledbetter (Titus) of Alexandria, VA, and Christina Gregory of Tampa, FL; aunt: Merley Lewis of Clinton, MD; nephew: James Ledbetter of Alexandria, VA; stepbrothers: Scotty Massenburg (Kenya) of Mosely, VA, Alonzo Massenburg (Fatimah) of Charlotte, NC, and Omari Massenburg of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Adriene graduated from Richmond Public Schools and attended Hampton University. She was formally employed with the Virginia Retirement System and the City of Richmond’s Department of Social Services. Adriene gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sixth Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. She later became a member of the Saint Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia, where she was active in the Young Adult Choir.

The family will receive friends at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. and where funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie.
