Cleveland Mood

Passed 06/27/2022

Funeral services for Mr. Cleveland Mood, 67, of 1059 Tee Vee Road, Elloree, SC will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee Chapel, Santee, SC, followed by interment at Browning Branch Cemetery, Elloree, SC. The Reverend Marvin Scott is officiating.

Cleveland Mood was born May 10, 1955, in Elloree, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Heyward and Geneva Mood. On Monday, June 27, 2022, Cleveland Mood quietly slipped away to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He graduated from Elloree training School in 1973. Upon graduation, he attended Claflin College. After successfully completing two years, he realized that College was not the path for him.

He worked as a teacher assistant at Elloree Elementary School. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the children and was a positive role model. The children loved him, and he loved them also.

After experiencing some health challenges, Cleveland enjoyed a simple life; he spent most days sitting on his front porch and sipping a cold mountain dew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Vernon Mood.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five sons, Terry Jackson, Brian Canty, Dwayne (Marie) Canty, Clay Haynes and Andre' (Brittany) Jackson; one daughter, Acronnette Jackson; four sisters, Cheryl M. Dash of Elloree, SC, Merylin Jackson, Eva M. Govan, both of Orangeburg, SC and Priscilla M. (Rodney) Johnson, of Santee, SC; one sister-in-law, Bertha Mood of Santee, SC; sixteen grandchildren, three great-grands, a special niece, Tammy Mood, a devoted friend, Rev. Marvin Scott and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Simmons Funeral Home of Santee, 8824 Old Number Six Highway, Santee, SC.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Ms. Cheryl Dash, 720 Hampton Street, Elloree, SC from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily.
