Obituary For WJ Warthen, Jr

WJ (Junior) Warthen, Jr was born on February 9, 1969 in Jefferson County to the parentage of the late WJ Warthen, Sr and Kay Frances Warthen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at James and Virginia Davis Chapel, Beech Street, Louisville, GA Interment will be held in Sugar Hill Cemetery, Wrens, GA He moved to Philadelphia in 1969 and returned to Jefferson County in 1989. He was united in holy matrimony to Martha Reese. He worked for many years for Hudson Farms. He enjoyed cooking and feeding people. Grilling was his specialty. No matter the weather he would light up his grill. He lived his life to the fullest and played by his own rules. Survivors include his wife Martha Reese Warthen, of Louisville, GA, daughter Janasia “MaMa” Warthen, of Louisville, GA; step daughter, Charmaine Reese, Wadley, GA; Sister: Brenda Washington, of Martinez, GA; Niece: Shante’ (Cheese) Grant, of Martinez, Ga; great niece,: Lyric (Bad Baby) Cooper of Martinez, Georgia; aunts: Faye (Ray) Gamble, St. Petersburg, FL, Janice Paschal, St. Petersburg, FL, Sherry Jones, Jacksonville, FL, Ruby Paschal, Martinez, GA, Lizzie Jackson, Dearing, Ga; uncles: Willie (Gene) Warthen, John Paschal, St. Petersburg, Fl, Willie Paschal, St. Petersburg, FL; several cousins and other relatives and friends. Pall Bearers-Jamel Holmes, Netravius Carr, Kirk Paschell, Larry Whetstone, Varon Anderson, Johnny Adams Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street is in charge of arrangements for Mr. WJ Warthen, Jr.
