Mrs. Barbara Jean Florence Trower was born on November 8, 1959 to the late Mr. Joe Green and the late Mrs. Mattie Lee Davis. After the death of her mother, she was adopted by Mr. Fred and Mrs. Elizabeth Florence and raised in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. Barbara was loving and kind, and she did not mind sharing her opinion on things she was passionate about. She was funny and had the kind of smile that would light up a room. As an act of love and gratitude, Barbara became the caretaker for her adopted mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Florence, until she was placed in a nursing care center. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her adopted parents. She became ill and succumbed to her illness in New Port News, VA on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory; one son, Demarcus Florence; a granddaughter, Callimarie Antionette Florence; a sister, Dorothy Green; two brothers, Barron Green and Earnest Green; three nieces, Penny (Paul) Hall, Janice Searcy Roseberry and Katherine Brown; three nephews, Jessie (Shynetria) Searcy, Algernon (Trishia) Searcy and Nathaniel Mormer; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
