I was in Mr. Yeargins' homeroom & Social Studies class in 8th grade at Central Middle School around 30 years ago. He's the reason I still remember that Cusco is a major city in Peru, that Tenochtitlan is now called Mexico City, why I know the difference in a plurality and a majority vote, and how to always win a tug of war on field day. He was an outstanding teacher who made a large difference in my life and who exemplified professionalism every day. I only saw him once or twice since I was in his class, but I never forgot him. I was sorry to hear the news. My condolences go out to the family. -William Henry, Jr.

Mr. Yeargins was my 8th grade SS teacher at CMS in 1982. He was one of my favorite teachers ever. I always looked forward to his class because he made learning fun! We played simple review games like "baseball". His warm smile, calm demeanor, and friendly personality endeared him to many! And not to forget he had the coolest clothes and hair!! My condolences to his family. I am praying for you. Please know how much I loved and respected Mr. Yeargins. He made a difference. Peace of Christ to you, and to you Mr. Yeargins.
