Obituary For Gwendolyn Barbara Giles

Gwendolyn Barbara Giles, a native of Jacksonville, FL and long-time resident of Baltimore, MD passed on July 3, 2022. A graduate of Santon High School in Jacksonville, FL, she attended Florida A & M University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University in Baltimore, MD. She then completed advanced studies and received her Master of Science degree from Coppin State University.

Barbara, as she is known, worked in various positions in the university system retiring as an Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Morgan State University. She was an avid traveler and especially enjoyed cruising.

Loving to sing praises to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Barbara was an active choir member and soloist at Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of the late Dr. Emmitt C. Burns, Jr., and Pastor Engel Burns.

Those left to cherish her memory include her many relatives and sorrowing friends. The memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Greater Israel United Missionary Baptist Church, 6901 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32208. James Graham Mortuary is entrusted with arrangements.
