Ms. Elaine Jelks was born on January 21, 1961 in Glencoe, AL, to the late Nathaniel Jelks & Mary Alice Ingram. On Monday, July 11, 2022, Elaine heard the Master’s call and answered.

She attended Etowah Co. School System, Gadsden State and Alabama A&M and obtained two degrees. Elaine gave her life to Christ at an early age and united with the Friendship Baptist Church and later moved to the Freedom Life Church.

She entered into Holy Matrimony with Jonathon Keith Collins and to this union, two children were born.

Elaine loved the Lord. She loved the beach. She loved her family and making People laugh. She was very protective over her family. She said what she meant and meant what she said. She instilled in her children to always be independent, stand for what you believe in and most importantly she taught her children how to pray. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Jelks & Mary Alice Ingram; Brothers, Henry Jelks and Nathaniel Jr.; Sister, Diane Brown and late husband, Jonathon Keith Collins.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to: Daughter, Keitha Jonae Collins; Son, Jonathan Keith Collins II; Sisters, Linda Sue James, Elizabeth English and Mary Elizabeth Ingram; Brother, Tommy Ingram; Granddaughter; Alexis Dominique Collins; Uncle, Daniel (Lula) Jelks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.
