Obituary For Minister George Windell Manns

Minister George Windell Manns, 78, of Stoneville, NC passed July 16, 2022. Public viewing will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.n. - 7:30 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel (Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC) with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Mayo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 3554 Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgway, VA.

Minister George “Windell” Manns 78, of Stoneville, NC departed this life peacefully on Saturday July 16, 2022, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Browns Summit, NC. He was born on February 2, 1944, to the union of the late George Odell Manns and Sallie Kellam Manns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Edward Manns and Sherbert Nathaniel Manns.

He was a 1963 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He retired from Duke Power after 27 years of service, he then continued working for Duke Power as a contractor for many years after retirement. He enjoyed being a Barber, visiting nursing homes where he was able to use his skills as a barber to be a blessing to others.

Minister Manns was a life-long member of Mayo Missionary Baptist Church, where he was an Associate Pastor, a member of the Mass Choir, the Heavenly Stars and the Royal 12 Male Chorus. Until his health declined, he was a MASON, with the M.W. Prince Hall Lodge #563, Madison, NC. He also had a love for his (Mustangs) cars, mowing, exercising, and spending time with family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Derek (Charlene) Manns of Browns Summit, NC and Marcus Manns of High Point, NC; four grandsons, Daysaun, Jaderium & Micah Manns and Corey Brandon Jr; three granddaughters, Jessanie Martin, Destiny and Deja’ Brandon; two great grandsons, Princetyn & Legend Pilson. A special friend, Ms. Jatana Hairston of Madison, NC, and a host of other family members and friends.
