She was a graduate of Ragsdale High School, Class of 1980, and was enrolled at UNCG, until her health declined.
Brenda was a strong, loving, and caring woman, who would do anything from the kindness of her heart. She had such a gentle spirit. She was quiet but had an outgoing personality. In her younger years, she was known to be the best track star. She loved shopping, going out to eat and hanging with her family and friends. She was most famous for her unique and classy nails.
She was formerly married to John Dunlap, and to this union they had two beautiful daughters, Quanita Fairley and Sophia Dunlap, and her one and only son, Milton Thomasson, Jr. She instilled in her children to be strong and guided them throughout their lives.
Brenda held various occupations throughout the years. She was a licensed hairstylist, lead cook for over 25 years at The Evergreens Nursing Home in High Point, NC, and later the Shannon Gray Rehabilitation Center in High Point, NC, until her heath declined.
Surviving to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Quanita Fairley of Thomasville, NC and Sophia Dunlap of Winston-Salem, NC; mother, Elizabeth Yoes of High Point, NC; father, Lindsay Thomasson of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Tonie Thomasson of Lexington, NC and Denese Wilkes, of Archdale, NC; one brother, Charles Thomasson of High Point, NC; a son-in-law, Matthew Fairley of Thomasville, NC; nieces, Markita Thomasson and Ny’Aysiah Wilkes, both of Archdale, NC, Raquel Howze of High Point, NC, and Sierra Thomasson, of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Joshua Thomasson of Lexington, NC, Charles Thomasson, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, and Kendrick Thomasson of High Point, NC; sisters-in-law, Donna Thomasson and Annie (John Lee) Perry of High Point, NC, and Johnsie (Lee) Burch, of Winston-Salem, NC; brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Wendy) Dunlap of Charlotte, NC, Arthur (Valecia) Dunlap and Walter Dunlap, all of High Point, NC; Chris White, of Winston-Salem, NC, whom she loved as a son. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
