A native of Jackson County, he was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. He was under the watch care at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami where his daughter is a member.
Treasured memories will forever remain with eight daughters, Ola Mae Williams of Kentucky, Linda Lovett and husband BJ of Marianna, Virginia Fudge and Husband Willie of St. Petersburg, Florida, Wanda Sims of Miramar, Florida, Evette Baker, Christine Crawford both of Tallahassee, Florida, Jennifer Stephenson and Angela Thomas and husband Tony both of Marianna, Florida; three step-children, Geneva Lee, Robert Lee both of Orlando, Florida, and Veronica Rolax and husband Hershel of Midway, Florida; a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Edward Sims and wife Eloise of Irvington, New Jersey; one sister, Gehazel Sims of Greenwood, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, July 29th from 3-6p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A Glorious Celebration will be held Saturday, 11:00a.m. at Second West Missionary Baptist Association Church where Reverend Riley J. Henderson is the Moderator. Reverend Dwight Cockerham, Sr., Reverend Isaac Williams, Reverend Jesse Douglas, Reverend Kevin Williams and Missionary Mary Mack will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
