A CHERISHED LEGACY

Jasper “J. C.” Littlejohn transitioned on July 12th 2022 from this earthly life to his heavenly home at CMC Main Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jasper was born May 14th 1947 in Cherryville, North Carolina to the late Mr. Pink and Ester Littlejohn.

J. C. graduated from John Chavis High School in Cherryville, North Carolina on June 1st 1965. On December 6th 1974, he received a Honorable Discharge as a Private E-2 from the United States Army. J. C. attended Cleveland Community Technical Institute and graduated September 9th 1977 with Basic Machine Training. J. C. enjoyed doing volunteer work as he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Boys Club of America on November 4th, 1979. In addition, he also received a Certificate of Appreciation for his outstanding help with Special Olympics from Eaton Corporation Public Relations Committee on April 19th 1995. After thirty years and one month, he retired from Eaton Corporation on October 31st 2007.

In his spare time, J. C. loved to coach children in sports. He led the Elizabeth Panthers Midgets to the 1998 Championship. J. C. believed in being a hard worker. An example of this, was his Perfect Attendance Award presented to him from Eaton Corporation in 2000. Even with all his dedication to his family and work, he devoted his life to the Lord. J. C. was a firm believer in Christ. He was presented by Pastor John Houze of Peoples Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC, a Certificate of Recognition for being an Outstanding Teacher in 2004. Teaching the youth at church was one of the things he was most proud of. He would study for hours just to prepare to teach every Sunday.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters; Callie Mae Allison, Ann Alexander and Christine Sweat, his brothers; Charles Littlejohn, Thomas Littlejohn, and James Littlejohn.

J. C. was survived by his children and grandchildren: Carletta Littlejohn, her husband Emmanuel, three children and three grand-children; Lisa Epps, her husband Robert, two children, Jeffrey Epps, his wife, Kristy, four children; Selma Epps, two children, four grandchildren, Reginald Littlejohn, one child, one grandchild; Javier Littlejohn his wife, Jarqueline five children; and J’Lisa Littlejohn, two children.

J. C. was a loving man, firm in his beliefs, and will be truly missed, but the love he shared will live on forever through the souls he touched and those who choose to follow his lead.

Place: Rudisill Chapel AME Zion Church, Cherryville, North Carolina

Date & Time: Saturday, July 23, 2022 @ 2:00 PM

Visitation: At the church thirty minutes prior to service from 1:30 until 2:00 PM

Burial: Private

Public Viewing at the funeral home Friday from 3:00 until 8:00 PM
