Obituary For Mother Ruth M. France

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, Mother Ruth M. France transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. Born February 17, 1939, in Virginia the daughter of James G. Johnson and Lillie Shelton Johnson who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, Mother France was preceded in death by one daughter, Ronda R. France; grand-daughter, Ariel France, and her brother, James Alvin Johnson.

Mother France was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was 1ST Lady, sang with the Senior Choir, served on the Mother’s Board, Home Mission, Missionary Society, and Sunday School.

Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband, Bishop James W. France of the home; two daughters, Starria F. (Tyrone) Harper of N. Prince George, VA, and Andante M. (Adam) Hodge of Ridgeway, VA; two sons, Thaddeus M. France of Collinsville, VA, and Dicey D. France of Bassett, VA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Dandridge of Columbus, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon, at the Greater International Pentecostal Assembly Building, 980 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA with Bishop Tyrone Harper, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Fair Haven Memorial Park, 18960 A.L. Philpott Hwy., Spencer, VA. Viewing for Mother France will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence, 1124 Rockhill Community Rd., Bassett, VA. The family ask that when visiting the home that you would please observe all COVID 19 guidelines.
