Obituary For Charlotte Nelson

Charlotte L. Nelson, 75, of Harrisburg, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Friday, July 22, 2022 at home with her family by her side.

She was born in Fuquay-Varina, NC, daughter of the late George Perry and Delores V. (McClain) Fitzgerald, was 1965 graduate of William Penn, retired from the Commonwealth of PA-Community Affairs and PA Housing Finance Agency and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, where she served as Choir President, the Events Committee and an Announcing Clerk. She was also a member of the Angelic Messengers, the Agape Experience and a former member of the Steelton Elks Cyrene Temple #169.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents who raised her, Matthew McClain Sr. and Carrie Lily (Cooper) McClain; her stepfather Walter C. Fitzgerald and brothers, George E. Perry, Melvin D. Perry, and Darryl A. Garrett. Charlotte leaves to celebrate her life; her loving husband, Albert Nelson of Harrisburg; her three daughters, Dara L. Bostic (Eric), Jami S. Brooks (Andre) and Kacy J. Gambles; her four grands, Daizah, Isaiah, Andrew and Kaycen and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Her life will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of Living Water Community Church, 206 Oakleigh Ave., Harrisburg, with viewing 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.

COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.

Al, Dara, Jami,and Kacy , my memory of Charlotte is how she ministered to the saints singing "Going Up Yonder". We are all trying to go where she is. Char was a great friend to me we had a lot of good laughs together she would wait for me to come to work so she could hear some of my stories I had to tell her she always said that I was better than the Patriot News I am really going to miss her I had just seen her and Al at three B getting ice cream my deepest sympathy goes out to her husband Al and her daughters and grandkids she was the Best Kim Wilson
