Obituary For Agnes Kathleen Canup

Mrs. Agnes Kathleen Canup, age 92, of Lexington, GA went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2022. Kathleen was born in Lexington, GA to George Mitchell & Addie Campbell on November 28, 1929 and lived most of her life in Oglethorpe County.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lorena Campbell Smith and also her husband of almost 70 years, James Walton Canup.

She was the loving mother of Katie Canup Glowka of Athens, GA and Douglas Canup (Paula) of Hayesville, NC.

She is survived by her siblings, Mazell Crane of Eatonton, GA and Martha Crane of Carnesville, GA. Grandchildren: Sean Canup, Jonathan Fletcher, Adrienne Fletcher, and great grandchildren: Evan Etheredge, Carrie Etheredge, Hayden Canup, KalliAnn Fletcher, Koleman Fletcher, and Jameson Fletcher. She was preceded in death by grandson, Justin Etheredge.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Barrett Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel in Crawford, GA. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 2:00pm at Pentecost Chapel Church in Lexington, GA followed by the committal service at the church, Pastor A.W. "Butch" Roberts, officiating. Mrs. Canup will lie in repose one hour prior to service.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Barrett Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.
