Rev. Elizabeth Keitt, the daughter of the late Willie Gidron and Henritta Footman, was born on June 17, 1931 in Lonestar, SC. Reverend Elizabeth Keitt departed this life in the comfort of her home on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
She received her education in the public schools of New York City. She then furthered her education and accepted her call in ministry. She became an ordained minister, deaconess and local elder. She received numerous lifetime achievement awards. One of her major accomplishments was receiving her Bachelor of Divinity in 2018, at the age of 87.
Rev. Elizabeth was employed at Sky City in Denmark, SC, where she was a hardware department manager for eleven years. She also owned a consignment shop called, “Keitt’s Corner.” She dedicated her whole life to the Lord and her work spoke for her.
She was preceded in death by her children: Thodore F. Keitt, Jr., Lynette K. Sheppard and Carl L. Keitt; and grandchildren: Tarnaga Franks, D’Marion Kwamayne Asmond and Raymond Haynes, III.
She leaves to mourn, Dr. Priscilla (Rev. Raymond) Haynes, Nathan Keitt, Alicia Reid, William Reid, Rudolph Reid, Elaine (Maurice Frazier) Reid and Michal (Satora) Reid; 24 grandchildren, including Taisha Keitt and Terrance, Nathan and Eric Sheppard, who were reared in the home.; 44 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends whom she loved with all her heart. Visitation will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Family and friends may visit the residence, 989 Brent Drive, Orangeburg, between the hours of 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily.
