Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Fryer, pastor, officiating. Interment to follow in Edmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2022 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
Mrs. Nash was a native of Phenix City, born on June 25, 1958, to the late Bill and Irene Lewis.
Mrs. Nash committed her life to Christ and was baptized in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1989. She was a longstanding member of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL, where she attended faithfully. She was a federal civil service employee for over 30 years. Through the years, she supported service members and their families as they transitioned, as well as military police as they secured the safety of Ft. Benning residents.
On June 2, 1980, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Gregory Nash. During their 42 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, Forgerald Nash and Shalonda Nash.
Mrs. Nash loved to express her faith to others to encourage and uplift them in troubling times. She enjoyed working in her yard, shopping, and spending time with family. She cared for her mother until her health made this no longer possible.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Lewis and great grandmother, Lila Mae Jones; her in-laws, Anthony Nash and Yvonne Smallwood.
She leaves behind to cherish her wonderful memories, her mother, Irene Davis Lewis; her husband, Gregory Nash; her children, Forgerald Nash (Sheinoura) of Phenix City, AL and Shalonda Nash of Midland, GA; Mrs. Nash simply adored her only grandson, Christian Nash; in-laws, Cynthia Hill (Sam) of Chesapeake, VA, Jackie Burgess (Tony) of Chester, VA, Tirey Nash of Norfolk, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
