Mrs. Willie B. Hicks-Maddox, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, August 5, 2022 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Smiths Station, AL with Rev. Jeffery McCauley, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL.

Willie B. Hicks-Maddox was born on May 13, 1940 to the late Cardie B. Thompson and Will Hicks in Eufaula, AL.

At an early age, Willie "B" accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at County Line Baptist Church, Twin Spring, AL. Often, Willie B would fellowship with her Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church family in Smiths Station, AL.

She worked at Bibb City Textile Mill, Columbus, GA where she retired after over 32 years of service as an Rovematic Operator. During her retirement she enjoyed watching NBA Basketball, SEC Auburn Football and her daytime TV Soap Opera Shows. As a high school student in Glenville, AL she was known for being a powerful Basketball Shooting Guard.

Mrs. Maddox was preceded in death by her sister, Isabella Crawford; brothers, Harry Truman Hicks, Jonah Lee Hicks and Sterling Hicks; sons, Benjamin Hicks and James "AL" Jacobs and daughter, Charlotte Hicks.

Precious memories will forever be cherished by her husband, James "Shine" Maddox, Columbus, GA; three sons, Jody Bruce (Stacy) Jacobs of Birmingham, AL, Jeffery Arnold (Keisha) Jacobs, Sr. of Phenix City, AL and Kerry Bruce Maddox of Phenix City, AL; one daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Hicks of Lato, AL; three sisters, Eloise Hicks-Brown of Phenix City, AL, Shirley Mae Hicks of Orlando, FL and Lisa Hicks of Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Edward Charles Hicks (Mamie Blanchard) of Montgomery, AL and Curtis Hicks of Phenix City, AL; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives; special family friend, Jonathon Griffin and one beloved special aunt, Beatrice Holmes of Phenix City, AL
