Obituary For Robert Bridges

Robert Douglas “Rerun” Bridges, age sixty-five of Shelby NC went to heaven on July 31st, 2022. Robert was born in Cleveland County to Shirley E. Bridges and Warren B. Smith on October 26th, 1956.

Robert attended Cleveland Tech (Cleveland Community College) for welding. Robert was well known as a master DJ of North & South Carolina and surrounding areas as "DJ RERUN". He was a talented musical legend that brought much laughter and entertainment to Cleveland County. Robert was also an historian in his own right.

Robert was preceded in death by Warren B. Smith (father), Sherwood Clark (brother) and his adoptive mother/auntie Cora Youngblood Perry. Robert is survived by his mother Shirley E. Bridges, five sisters Rachel Dale Bridges, Callisa Petty, Lavita Rhodes, Sheena Twitty (James) and Sharon McIntosh, three brothers Dwayne Smith (Louise) , Warrick Ross and Howard Nichols, four aunties Connie Davenport, Patti Ellis, Vivian Richardson and Peggy England, a special niece Jaronda L. Bridges along with nine other nieces, five nephews and other family and special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Family will be receiving friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM. at the chapel on Friday.
