Obituary For Robert James Hickson, Sr

Mr. Robert James Hickson, Sr, 94, made his transition from labor to reward on August 1, 2022 in Wadley, GA Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Jones Chapel C.M.E Church, Bartow GA with mask and social distancing. Interment will be held in the Jones Chapel Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. Mr. Hickson was a native of Washington County but lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He was a faithful member of the Jones Chapel C.M.E Church and worked for many years with Smith Brothers Farms. He met and on February 14, 1955 married the former Juanita Roberts. He was a loving husband and father. He is preceded in death by his parents and two children, Katie H. McGhee and Ronnie Hickson. His absence will be felt in the hearts of his loving wife: Juanita Roberts Hickson, Wadley, GA; ten loving and devoted children: Mimi C. Hill, Pembroke Pines, FL, Annie L. (Minister John Roger) Lewis, Sr., Wadley, GA, Connie Hickson, Oxford, AL, Linda (Michael E.) Lewis, Wadley, GA, Robert James Hickson, Jr., Riverdale, GA, Sandra Hickson, Louisville, GA, Gregory B. (Alberta) Hickson, Sr, Wadley, GA, Nathan Hickson, Wadley, GA, Darrell (Jeannette) Hickson, Augusta, GA and Willie L. Hickson, Augusta, GA; two sisters: Elizabeth Johnson, Stone Mountain, GA, Bertha Mae Dawson, Oconee, GA; twenty-six grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
