Obituary For John A. Haislip

John A. Haislip, 84, of Bowie, MD departed from this life Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Born August 13, 1937, in Axton, Virginia, he was the son of the late Andrew Haislip and the late Eva Fuller Haislip.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bobby Quinton Haislip.

John was educated in the Henry County Public Schools and after graduating high school he went into the United States Air Force. He moved to New Jersey in the 1960s where he lived until 2021. John was a proud member of Local 27 working as a CDL driver at Delta Corrugated for decades before retiring.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his goddaughter, Ella Denice Hairston, of Bowie, MD, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on his birthday Saturday, August 13, 2022, with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. and the service following at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, Martinsville, VA. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 1310 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA. Viewing will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required.
