Obituary For Horace Battle

Horace Battle, 97, of Harrisburg, peacefully transitioned into eternal life on Monday, August 1, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, PA. He was born in Warthen, Washington Co., GA, son of the late Jim Battle and Nora (Stevens) Battle, was a US Army Veteran and retired from the former Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot.

Horace leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Henrietta M. (Greene) Battle; his son, Ricky Battle of Steelton, PA; his daughters, Louise Buie of Sandersville, GA and Carolyn Fields of Johnstown, PA; his sister, Willie Bell Morris of Sandersville, GA and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His life will be celebrated on Monday, August 8th at 12 Noon in the Chapel of The Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.
