Obituary For Frances Barnes Heckstall

Frances Marie Barnes Heckstall, of Richmond, died August 2, 2022. She was born August 19, 1928 in Princeton, North Carolina to Lonnie and Charlotte Edwards Heckstall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Alfred Heckstall, Sr. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Bracey and Ethylene Durant (Byron); son, Frederick Heckstall, Jr.; grandchildren, Akiki, Hannibal (Kristen), Freedom, Rainbow, Frances and Salim; a devoted great grandson, Sharif; two sisters, E.B. Penny of Four Oak, NC and Sarah Gregg of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. where viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 5 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. TO THE FAMILY OF MRS. FRANCES BARNES HECKSTALL THE SPARROW'S SONG A sparrow rose and spread its wings to soar to bigger skies. The time had come to leave its nest and say its sweet good-byes. It took the love within its heart and set for the unknown, carried by the gentle wind as morning sunlight shown. Beyond the clouds, it traveled on, then disappeared from view, singing in another place, another stretch of blue.
