Obituary For Rodrith "Blo" Hairston

Rodrith “Blo” Hairston 46, of Roanoke, VA, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at his residence. Born August 2, 1976, in Virginia, he was the son of Fletcher Kirby and Gloria Hairston who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, Rodrith was preceded in death by one brother, Tyrone Hairston; maternal grandparents, Jarvis Alcorn and Esta Marie Hairston; and a cousin/brother, Michael Webster.

“Blo” as he was affectionately called, was a graduate of VA School for the Death & Blind. He was disabled.

Those left to cherish his memory include: one son, Blake Hairston of Floyd, VA; one brother, Rochette Hairston of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Shaleta (Aaron) Smith; a cousin/sister, Shemika Webster of Martinsville, VA; two cousins/brothers, Vshawn Webster and Anthony (Neisha) Webster both of Martinsville, VA; paternal grandparents, Shirley Oliver and Jimmy Hughes both of Martinsville, VA; an uncle, George Oliver or Martinsville, VA; a special cousin, Novella Kirby of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 12 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Elder Alan Preston, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 1310 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA. Viewing will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Shaleta and Aaron Smith, 1271 Lanier Dr., Martinsville, VA.
