Mr. Samuel Pinckney, 78 of Johns Island, South Carolina entered into eternal rest, Friday, August 5, 2022. The relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Samuel Pinckney Home-Going Service, 11AM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at The Old Ashley Baptist Center, 3275 Old Pond Rd, Johns Island, SC 29455. A viewing will be held Friday August, 12, 2022 from 5PM until 7PM at Walkers Mortuary. Interment: Calvary A.M.E Church Cemetery. Please remember to wear your masks and continue to social distance.

Mr. Sam (which was what I called him) was "true blue." What you see, was what you got. He spoke his mind and that was enough. I spoke of him often when he lived and more so now that he's gone. He always loved company and would make sure you knew you were always welcome to come back. Likewise he made it a point to visit friends and family often when he was abled bodied. He always knew the news on the grapevine, who was sick, who passed, who was having a cookout etc. By and by he mellowed out over the years. I think of him often and how parts of him manifest itself in the family. I didn't know he was in the hospital and through prayer it was not the will of God that I be there for his departure. But I do know that I will see him again so we can fuss at each other again. Praise God.
