Obituary For Gloria McClain

Ms. Gloria Ann McClain was born August 11, 1961 in Shelby, NC. She left this earthly body to be with our Lord and Savior on August 8, 2022 at her residence in Shelby.

Gloria graduated from Shelby High School in 1979 where she met many lifelong friends. She worked in Quality Control for many years until her health declined. She also worked in security and studied Pharmaceutical. To know Gloria was to love Gloria.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton J.R. McClain; her mother, Ida Bell Sanders McClain; two sisters, Linda K. Schenck (Wayne) and Virginia A. Degree; four brothers, James E. McClain, Robert E. McClain, Dennis F. McClain and James Littlejohn (Kathy).

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Ameka K. McClain of Kings Mountain N.C. and Kinyon J. McClain of Shelby N.C. She was also a proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 6 greatgrandchildren.

Gloria also is survived by three sisters, Ida M. Ross, Martha Crosby and Janie McClain; two brothers, Donnie McClain (Barbara) and Danny McClain; three special nieces, Latasha Knox, Jerrian Currence and Ashaiah Harris; one nephew Tyje’ Hamilton; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Degree and Iva McClain and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She will always be loved and missed by her three best friends Cheryl Montgomery, Susan Hartsoe and Angie Smith (William).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 3:30 PM at Changers Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 3:30 PM.
