Obituary For David Cobb

DAVID FRANCIS COBB, 78, of Harrisburg, transitioned to eternal life on August 4, 2022 at home after a long battle with cancer.

He was the son of the late Agent and Alberta Cobb (née Maynard) in Harrisburg, PA, a graduate of John Harris High School in 1962 and went on to attend Drexel University. After Drexel, he worked at TRW and then left to go to Metropolitan Life Insurance. After a few years in corporate America, David decided to become an entrepreneur. His first venture was DFC Enterprise, where he was a promoter for concerts, sporting events, etc. Next, he started up DFC Graphics. At the time of his death, he was founder and president of AFC Foundation.

While at his first company, David met Finesse Levy. The two married on January 24, 1990 and they remained happily married until David’s passing. He was a member of Emanuel Church of God in Christ. He loved walking, jogging, cooking, and spending time on he and Finesse’s property in Reidsville, NC. David also valued the importance of reading and keeping up with current events. You could catch him talking about what was going on in the world even at his sickest hour. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Agent and Alberta Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Finesse Cobb; children, Brian Cobb (Tracy), Tierna Henry (Mark), Mahlon Chase III, and Jelani Chase; 13 grandchildren, Quinton, Jaleesa (Harold), Blair, Tahzia, Mark, Mahlon IV, Sade, Justin, Makayla, Sushaunna, Ilori, Zuri, and Neema; four great grandchildren, Noah, Marcus, Jordan, and Jackson; his siblings, Annette Cobb Barlow and Charles Cobb and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

David’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 16th at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of his Church, 601 N. 16th Street, Harrisburg, with Viewing from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

COVID-19 Guidelines will be observed with face masks for all attendees.

I will never forget seeing David and making contact with him in The market one day after not seeing him in quite sometime. I went to work for David and Finesse shortly after that chance encounter.
