Obituary For Bettye Oliver Capers

On January 24, 1941, in Jefferson County, Georgia Bettye Jean Oliver was born to Robert Lee Oliver, Sr. and Clealor Gibbons Oliver. She was the oldest and was preceded in death by her baby brother, Robert Lee Oliver, Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday

On September 22, 1962, she married Thomas Jefferson Capers. They were blessed with one son, Tomye Jefferson Capers. Bettye was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church for many years. She later joined Kingdom Life Fellowship Ministries in Wadley, Georgia. Bettye was employed by the Medical College of Virginia as a ward clerk and for the YMCA after school program. She moved to Augusta, Georgia in June 1994 and was employed as a CNA at the Veterans Nursing Home in Augusta, Georgia and with the Richmond County School System as a paraprofessional. She enjoyed making and painting many beautiful pieces of ceramics for her home and others. She enjoyed singing, dancing, taking long walks, and making others laugh. She loved family and entertaining. She lived her latter years at the House of Paradise in Wadley, Georgia where she was the life of the party. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Tomye Capers, Houston, Texas; her sister- in- law, Eunice Oliver, Wadley, Georgia; six nieces and nephews, Jennifer Oliver, Augusta, Georgia, Yvette Oliver-McLean (Larry), Hephzibah, Georgia, Tanzie McBride (Kendrick), Veronica Logan (Pat) and Melvin Danford, Wadley, Georgia and Felicia Oliver, Marietta, Georgia and a host of great nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
