Obituary For Wallace "JackMoe" Henry Moore Jr.

Mr. Wallace Henry Moore, Jr., affectionately known as “Jack” was born on August 27th, 1957 in Durham, North Carolina to the late Wallace Henry Moore, Sr. and Quenittie Elizabeth Evans Moore. Jack departed this life on the morning of Wednesday, August 10th 2022 with family by his side.

Jack received his education in the Durham Public School System, graduating with a General Educational Diploma. He loved to cook (and eat), and was employed many years as a Cook with the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, and most recently with the Durham Exchange Club Industries, Inc., where he was semi-retired at the time of his falling asleep.

In his younger years, Jack liked to read and collect super hero comic books. He was very good at drawing, and liked to draw pictures of these super heroes…on the wall. His favorite super hero character was always Superman. Jack loved fishing and he collected diecast cars way into his adulthood, mainly those of the 1950’s era. He loved family gatherings, especially those that involved a cookout and hot dogs.

Several months before his illness overtook him, Jack was led in the sinner’s prayer, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Being a new believer and new to the concept of the grace of God, Jack struggled with whether or not he was good enough to be saved, but praise be to our God who, if our heart condemns us, is greater than our heart!

Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Tracy Moore, his mother, Mrs. Quenittie E. Moore, three sisters, Gloria E. Moore, Mirdie R. Moore, and Minister Wannesia J. Wilson (Jimmy); a brother, Rev. Herman L. Moore (Teresa); two nephews, James D. Holloway (Danielle) and Jermaine D. Holloway (Latisha); three great nephews, Kai Holloway, Knox Holloway, and Levi Holloway; an aunt, Earlene Moore Cameron, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday August 18, 2022 at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church 11912 Old Creedmoor Rd Raleigh NC 27613,visitation service with family and friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM and funeral service at 1:00 PM.
